HYMN TO FAITH:  Technical Insights by Andrea Morricone, Composer

"Hymn to Faith (Inno alla Fede) is a composition I have prepared for Oboe and Strings and dedicated to the Foundation Pro-Music and Sacred Arts.

The writing for the strings is water-marked, and each session of the orchestra has its own high expressive value and deep meaning. The piece offers multiple ways of approach: a connotation “madrigal”, a rhetoric aspect, a strong structural choice that conditions numerous inlays.

With this in mind, I wish to underline the “plan of dynamic” with which the bridge begins, where the melodic line is left to the cellos, after that, through the total (sum) of the other instruments, the intensity of the strong is achieved up to the highest range of the instruments.

This quality of the written dynamic and innate to the score, I believe is one the most interesting lessons taught by the greatest masterpieces in the history of music. In regards to the Oboe, the Aria is extremely delicate, because of its weaving and because of the agonic articulations and the connections with the rhythmical movements of the strings."
